Kairos Public Charter School has submitted a Minor Modification request to revise the master plan layout for the approved Kairos Public Charter School Campus located at the northwest corner of Sunflower Street and Day Lily Drive. The proposal would introduce a new interim 4,320 sq. ft. modular building for approximately 100 High School students participating in the independent study program and would expand the existing parking area to include 23 spaces. Other on-site improvements include new walkways, landscaping, and vehicular access to address requirements for parking, emergency vehicle access, and shade. The anticipated timeline for the usage of the modular building is five years or until the permanent high school classrooms are constructed. The Kairos Public Charter School campus master plan was originally approved on November 23, 2021, and included an administration building (5,138 sq. ft.), an independent study building (11,199 sq. ft.), a multipurpose building (13,705 sq. ft.), five classroom buildings (4,226 sq. ft. each), with various multi-purpose fields and play areas and 199 parking stalls to accommodate approximately 600 students and 70 full-time staff members. The Applicant has completed the construction of Phase 1 for the independent study building, which is designed to accommodate an enrollment of 200 students.
