To improve the quality of inspections and better serve the City of
Vacaville residents and the development community, starting January 3, 2023,
the City of Vacaville will be modifying its inspection request procedures as
follows:
Inspection requests must be submitted
no later than 3:00PM the business day before the inspection is desired.
Inspection requests submitted prior to 3:00PM will be scheduled for the first
available business day unless otherwise specified. The Building Division will
continue to strive to accommodate as many inspections as possible each day with
the goal of completing all requested inspections within two business days of
the request.
Inspections are conducted Monday –
Friday. Please note that City offices are closed every other Friday and
inspections are not conducted on closure days.
You may express a preference for a morning (AM) or afternoon (PM)
inspection and we will do our best to accommodate. However, due to workload and
staffing availability, we cannot always guarantee a specific time frame. Please
note that AM inspections are conducted between 8:00AM – 12:00 PM and PM
inspections are conducted between 12:00PM – 3:30PM.
You will not receive confirmation for your scheduled inspection.
However, you may view your inspection request via the eTRAKiT portal.
Please note that City staff may reschedule inspections to the following
business day based on staff availability. You will be notified if the
inspection is rescheduled.
Approved plans and the inspection card issued by the City shall be
made available at the time of inspection. Failure to provide required
documentation may result in a re-inspection fee.
If your project requires inspections from any other department or
outside agency, you must first obtain those inspections before requesting a
final building inspection.
