Orion Outdoor Media has submitted Development Agreement, Conditional Use Permit, and Major Design Review requests to construct a 65 ft. tall digital billboard located within SID right-of-way located on the west side of Interstate 505 and approximately 600 ft. south of Midway Road (see Location Map). The proposal consists of the installation of a 672 sq. ft. double-sided, V-shaped digital display mounted on a brown monopole, with drought-tolerant landscaping at the base of the sign. The digital display would operate 24 hours per day, 365 days per year for 30 years, with advertisements being displayed for at least 8 seconds. The digital display would include a light sensor to automatically adjust the screen’s brightness with ambient lighting conditions. As part of the Development Agreement, Orion Outdoor Media is proposing to: (1) contribute $18,000/year to the City for beautification improvements; and (2) offer advertising opportunities to the City, nonprofit organizations, and community clubs.
